Indigenous Knowledge Tree Unveiling

Indigenous students with the knowledge tree.

Earlier this week, we were very excited to unveil our Hilltop Road Public School Indigenous Knowledge Tree. The Knowledge Tree was collaboratively created by all Indigenous students at our school, through Culture Club. Aunty Carol, an Indigenous community leader, also supported our students to create the Knowledge Tree.

It is a representation of Indigenous culture, celebrating the traditional custodians of the land on which our school stands, and paying respect to our Indigenous community, past, present and future. The knowledge tree helps to carry the memories, traditions and culture of Indigenous Australians and celebrate this within our school community.

The creation of the tree took several weeks of planning and hard work, and we are very proud of the result. The Knowledge Tree is on display in our school library, where it will remain for the foreseeable future. Thank you to Mrs Lavery, Mrs Romer, Aunty Carol and all of our Indigenous students for creating the Knowledge Tree for our school.
