Welcome back to our Community

students back at school

This week, we were overjoyed to welcome back our students to full time classes here at Hilltop Road Public School. After many weeks of remote learning, it has been a breath of fresh air to have our students' smiling faces back in our classrooms.

Thank you to everyone in the Hilltop Road school community who banded together to make the most of the period of home learning. Thank you to our teachers for all of their effort in transforming the way they teach and creating online lessons and tasks. Thank you to our administrative and support staff for keeping everything running smoothly for our teachers and families. Thank you to the parents who supported their children through the process of learning from home. A massive thank you must also go out to all of our students who were so conscientious in their engagement with learning from home. We were so impressed with the effort of our students and pleased with the way they took responsibility for their learning.

Upon the return to full time school, everyone has settled in beautifully. As well as getting back into our lessons, it has been particularly exciting to reconnect as a community. While unable to currently run community events and gatherings as we normally would, we took time this week to recognise Reconciliation Week and the celebration of Eid. As always, we seek to show our respect to the Indigenous custodians of this land, and Reconciliation Week provides an excellent opportuinty to do this. We also celebrate the diversity of our community, and so we acknowledged the fesitval of Eid which was celebrated by many members of our school community this week.

Now that we are back at school together, we look forward to many more good news stories to share!
