After a couple of years of disruption, we are very pleased to once again be running Swimming Scheme at Hilltop Road Public School. Swimming Scheme is a program of swimming lessons, delivered every day over a two-week period, implemented to ensure that all our students can learn how to swim. This year, the program has been offered to students in years 2-5, and it is wonderful to see so many of our students involved.
The program is running in weeks 9 and 10, with each grade cohort traveling by bus to Merrylands Swimming Centre, for staggered sessions throughout the day. Our students have already shown great improvement in their swimming skills and confidence in the water. We cannot wait to see their swimming skills at the end of the program!
Thank you to the excellent team of professional swimming instructors who are helping our students to achieve their goals in the water, the Hilltop Road teachers who are accompanying the students to the pool and in the water, and to Miss Crabbe for coordinating Swimming Scheme. Swimming is such an invaluable life skill. We hope that all our students will leave Hilltop Road Public School with the skills and confidence to be safe and have fun in, on and around water, and swimming scheme is helping to make that happen.
