Ready set go for kindergarten
Ready Set Go for Kindy is a school readiness program for families with children starting school in 2015. The program aims to introduce big school in a fun, exciting and welcoming way. At Hilltop Road Public School we believe it is the whole family that comes to school. With this in mind ready set go works on a number of levels.
Children
Through play based activities the children will develop important skills required to start kindergarten such as social skills (sharing, turntaking, or listening) follow daily routines and be introcued to numeracy and literacy. They will become familiar with the school environment, teaching staff, making friends and become confident and independent and ready to start school.
Parents/carers
School today is very different place from when we attended and many of our families schooled overseas. This is a great opportunity to experience what school is like today, meet other families coming to school and ask questions. During the program we run a series of parent workshops which will update you on current teaching methods and important information required to start school. Parents/carers are required to stay with their children during the program.
Siblings
Are welcome to attend, they will be encouraged to join in activities and become familiar with the enviornment. After all they will be coming one day.
